The Handy Helpers scheme has bene set up with funding from Buckinghamshire Council for over 65+ or below 65 and living with a disability and struggle to do practical tasks around your home. This person-centred service matches residents regarded as ‘at risk’ with a DBS-checked Handy Helper Team Leader supported by a group of volunteers or a DBS-checked Men in Sheds Handy Helper.
The Handy Helpers project enables people to live safely and securely in their own homes for longer. Funded by a grant from Buckinghamshire Council, the service can be accessed for free or on a donation basis, according to an assessment of need. Community Impact Bucks will also signpost clients to Trading Standards which holds a list of approved, qualified tradespeople.
