Conservative-run Buckinghamshire Council has announced the launch of a new grant scheme aimed at improving home energy efficiency. Grants of up to £30,000 are now available for homeowners to carry out energy-saving measures such as loft insulation and window replacements. This initiative targets properties with an Energy Performance Certificate rating of D or below (D to G).
The Domestic Building Envelope Energy Efficiency (DBEEE) Grant is funded by Buckinghamshire Council's allocation from the Conservative Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Eligible residents can apply for the DBEEE Grant through Better Housing Better Health www.bhbh.org.uk. Approved applicants will have the cost of their home improvements covered by the Council, which will pay contractors upon completion of the work. All works must be completed and claims submitted by 31 December 2024.
In addition to the DBEEE Grant, Buckinghamshire Council also offers the Energy Doctor scheme for residents who may not require extensive home improvements. This scheme provides free energy and water-saving measures, such as hot water insulation jackets and reflective radiator panels.
