The aim of the charity is to reduce residents loneliness, poverty and unnecessarily wasting food. When it was launched on the 26th July 2022 it was an automatic success.
Buckinghamshire Council have funded and supported this charity via the Household Support Fund Grant from the Department of Work and Pensions). Aiming to help develop FoodCycle's spread across Aylesbury with the site located in one of the local Aylesbury food banks - Aylesbury Vineyard.
Open to all, this initiative provides a warm, tasty, free meal at 6pm every Tuesday.
Launched on 26th July this year the charity fed 17 guests, who all enjoyed their meal. The guests told some really moving stories explaining why these community meals would make a massive difference in their life in a positive way. Each member of staff in the kitchen and serving are voluntary members from the community who want to help.
