Following eight weeks of hustings and events across the length and breadth of the United Kingdom today the new leader of the Conservative Party, and our next Prime Minister was announced. We have been clear as an Association that the most important thing is having the best possible leader for the country, especially in these turbulent times and we are thrilled to see that Liz has been selected.
We know that Liz will hit the ground running and we are looking forward to hearing more about the plans that she outlined over the last few weeks. There are sure to be changes coming thick and fast over the next few days and we look forward to seeing the new Cabinet.
Leadership contests always bring out a fierce debate, showing the depth and breathed of talent within the Party. The whole Party will now unite behind our newly elected leader and her vision for our country.
