Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet has formally agreed a wide-ranging package of support for residents this winter, including how it will spend £2.4 million of the government’s Household Support Fund. The ‘Helping Hand’ initiative, which was launched two years ago during Covid, will be delivered in partnership with the amazing voluntary and community sector we have across the County.
This support package includes the ‘Crisis Fund’ with Heart of Bucks, the network of ‘Welcoming Spaces’ and the continuation of the Holiday Activities Food programme with support in place for 4000 child sessions this winter. Using £2.4 million from the Government’s Household Support Fund, we have confirmed support for foodbanks, digital food vouchers for those on free school meals and financial help for individuals in need. Together we can help improve the lives of those affected by inflation and energy price shocks.
