Aylesbury MP, Rob Butler is absolutely delighted that the cabinet Buckinghamshire Council have today approved plans for the regeneration of two key parts of the town centre - the Old County Offices and the Gala bingo hall.
This is exactly what he has been campaigning for since he became Aylesbury’s MP four years ago, and will help achieve his ambition to make Aylesbury an even better place to live, work, visit and invest.
Rob has brought several Government ministers to Aylesbury so they can see for themselves the potential for our town and he is really pleased that this has now turned into money from the Brownfield Land Release Fund, enabling this work to go ahead.
The development of County Offices is especially significant to him personally, as that is where his parents first met one another when they both worked for Buckinghamshire County Council almost 60 years ago. And the plans for the Gala Bingo Hall site will open up new parts of the town centre to exciting opportunities from a wide range of businesses.
This is another great example of the Conservative Council working hand-in-hand with the town’s Conservative MP to bring great benefits to Aylesbury.
Buckinghamshire Council Leader Cllr Martin Tett said, "This is excellent news for the county town of Aylesbury. This could not have been delivered without the strong support of Rob Butler."
